Spanish Immersion Classes

Our Spanish Immersion program is designed to be a 100% immersive experience, guiding children toward greater oral, reading, and written fluency in Spanish. We approach learning through the three primary styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—to ensure every child engages meaningfully and deeply with the language.

Learners will build a strong foundation in phonemic and phonological awareness, the building blocks of fluency. This includes mastering vowel and letter sounds, recognizing letter names, making cross-language connections, and practicing syllabification. These skills not only strengthen Spanish but also support overall literacy development.

At Luna y Cielo, we believe language learning flourishes in an environment of encouragement and joy. Our educators nurture confidence by affirming each child’s natural ability to acquire language, creating a positive mindset around learning Spanish. Through this approach, children grow in both skill and self-belief, while also celebrating and honoring their cultural identity—inside our classroom and beyond.

Details

Maestra is always happy to partner with you in your child’s learning journey. After each class, she will be available for a few minutes to share updates on your child’s progress or answer any questions you may have. We encourage all parents to check in regularly—these conversations help us celebrate your child’s growth, highlight areas of strength, and provide simple strategies to keep supporting Spanish learning at home.

FAQs

  • Even if a child already “knows” or has been exposed to the Spanish language they are not yet masters of the language. To strive for mastery of the Spanish language children need to be given the opportunity to learn letter sounds, form syllables, arrange words in sentences and also be presented with different activities to expand their vocabulary, strengthen their comprehension skills, and celebrate the culture in which the language is rooted.

  • Children need to bring a composition notebook and a pencil for every class. No spiral notebooks please.
